V - Bad weeds

What a run…

This past week was intense and very busy. We finally released Million Lords beta app, which is a separated version of the game, where we test on the closed beta server all the new features deployed, that will go (one week later) for the main servers.

The 1.0.5 version is so on point and fresh, the game feels like new ! A lot of optimizations on the server and client sides, putting aside the new daily quests, a new shop, a huge re-balance for the currency, and most of all: PL IS DEAD ! Yes, we killed the Power Leveling by a simple procedure: when a player attack an enemy city and take control of it, its “city walls” (which is a parameter that adds to your defense, plus is counted as troops, which means gives XP when defeated) goes on cooldown for 4 HOURS after the attack.

With this, players won’t be able to spam attacking and losing the same city for XP, and that way, they can still exchange cities, but without additional XP, which will put the evildoers to a brain-dead, ecstatic, delusive state of mind, thinking they’re going to level up fast, while it’s like shooting blank for 4 hours!

To keep the PL on, two players must synchronize and attack/give ALL their cities one by one, keeping the XP bonus neutral (at 100%), and waiting for the troops to move (slowly) from close cities to far ones. And when using all the ammu given, they’ll still have to wait for 4 hours, but here’s the catch: We’re developing a monitoring tool that will be able to catch spammy players that goes against each others, and give me the hand to slam the bann-hammer on them heads, since we’re changing the Terms of Service too !

1 week to go, testing these features, then we’ll patch the official servers and continue opening the Early Access to the rest of the world, except the #US, #Japan and #China , and this will be the next topic for our Dev Chronicles serie!

Oh, and btw, we have push notifications too now!

Cheers!
